Privacy
The short version: What you write in Someday stays on your iPhone. Your Sparks, the people you add, your notes and photos — we never send them to our servers, because we don't have servers that hold them. We collect a small amount of usage data to see which features people actually use, and it carries nothing that identifies you and nothing that links your activity from one session to the next. We don't run ads, we don't sell or share your information, and we never see your payment details.

What Someday stores on your device
Everything you create in Someday lives in the app's own storage on your iPhone:
- Sparks — titles, notes, links you save, and photos you add.
- People — names, relationship tags, notes, favorites like color, food, music, and movie, and an avatar photo.
- Occasions — dates and the occasions you're tracking.
- Reminders — when to nudge you, what's already surfaced, and a log of notifications the app has sent.
None of this is synced to our servers, and Someday does not use iCloud to sync your app data between devices.
What leaves your device
Three things, and nothing else.
1. Usage analytics
We use TelemetryDeck, a European analytics provider, hosted in the EU.
Every event we send carries the same short list of technical details:
- A one-time event ID and the name of the event, like "spark created"
- A session ID, which resets after the app has been in the background for 30 minutes
- App version, build number, and iOS version
- Device model, as the generic hardware name — for example "iPhone15,3"
- Language, time zone, and network type
- Which subscription tier is active
Anything attached to an event is a count, an on/off value, or one of a fixed set of categories. Someday sends no identifier that would let your activity be connected from one session to the next, and nothing that points back to you, your Apple Account, or your device.
These things are never included: the titles or notes of your Sparks, the names of your People, links you save, your photos, your email address, anything from your contacts or calendar, your location, or an advertising identifier. Someday does not use the advertising identifier at all, never asks for permission to track you, and does not track you across other apps or websites. As a safety net, the app automatically replaces any value that is unusually long or that looks like an email address or a link before an event is ever sent.
Events are held on your device and sent when convenient, so they may sit there for a while before going out. We use them only to understand which features are used and to decide what to build next. They are never used for advertising, never sold, and never shared.
2. Link previews
When you save a link to a Spark, your iPhone asks that website for its title and preview image so the Spark looks like something rather than a bare URL. That request goes from your device straight to the website — it does not pass through us, and we never see it.
It does mean the site you linked to can see your IP address and browser identification at that moment, the same as if you had opened the link in Safari. We don't receive that information and we don't log it. If you'd rather a site not see the request, don't save a link to it.
3. Purchases
Subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your card number, billing address, or Apple Account details. What we receive from Apple is whether a subscription is active and which tier it is.
Every plan is for one person. The Family tier is a capacity tier — more People, Sparks, and Moments — not a shared account. Nothing you save is ever visible to another Someday user.
iCloud Backup
We never send your content to our servers. Separately from us, if you have iCloud Backup turned on, iOS includes Someday's data in your device backup along with everything else on your phone. That's Apple's backup, handled under Apple's privacy policy, not something Someday sends anywhere. You can turn it off for Someday in iOS Settings, though doing so means your Sparks and People would not come back if you replaced your phone.
Permissions Someday may ask for
Five, and all of them are optional. Someday works without any of them, and you can change your mind in iOS Settings at any time.
- Notifications — to remind you about occasions and resurface Sparks.
- Contacts — to import a few people you choose.
- Calendar — to import occasions you choose.
- Camera — to take a photo for a Spark or a person.
- Photo Library — to add a photo you already have.
Notifications stay on your device
Someday's reminders are scheduled by the app on your iPhone. We do not operate a notification server, and no reminder passes through us on its way to you. Because reminder text can include a person's name, it may appear on your lock screen — that's rendered on your device and never transmitted.
Importing from Contacts and Calendar
Both imports are deliberately narrow, and both are one-time copies rather than an ongoing sync — later changes in Contacts or Calendar don't flow into Someday.
Contacts: only the contacts you pick one at a time, and only their display name and the month and day of their birthday. The picker doesn't show or read phone numbers or email addresses.
Calendar: only the events you select from the picker.
Photos
Photos you add are saved in Someday's storage on your device and are not uploaded anywhere. They're resized and re-saved when you add them, so camera metadata such as location isn't carried over with them.
Crash reports
Someday doesn't include any crash-reporting or diagnostics service. If we ever see a crash report from your device, it reaches us through Apple's own system, only if you've turned on "Share with App Developers" in iOS Settings, and in the de-identified form Apple provides.
Deleting your data
You can delete any Spark, person, or occasion in the app. Deleting Someday from your iPhone removes all of the app's data from your device — and since none of it is on our servers and none of it syncs to iCloud through us, that erases your content completely.
Analytics events that have already been sent are a different matter, and we'd rather be straight about it: because no event carries anything that identifies you or your device, we have no way to find which events came from you, and so no way to delete them individually. There's nothing to search by. That's the trade-off of collecting data that can't be tied to a person.
The waitlist
If you joined the Someday waitlist before launch, we hold the email address you gave us. It was collected through Netlify Forms, the service that hosts this site, and we use it only to tell you about Someday. We don't sell, rent, or trade it. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can write to support@verentolabs.com at any time to see what we have on file or to have it deleted. Unlike the analytics above, this is information that identifies you, and we can act on those requests directly.
When you visit this website
This site is hosted by Netlify, which keeps standard server logs including IP addresses, browser identification, and which pages were requested. Images are served from a Supabase storage bucket, so those requests reach Supabase as well. We don't run analytics on this site and we don't use tracking or advertising cookies.
Children's privacy
Someday isn't intended for children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, email us and we'll take care of it.
For California residents
We do not sell or share personal information, as those terms are defined by the CCPA and CPRA, and we don't use your information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We haven't in the past and we have no plans to.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. For nearly everything Someday touches, the answer is that it's on your device and already under your control. Where we do hold something that identifies you, write to support@verentolabs.com and we'll respond within one month.
Changes to this policy
If we change how Someday handles your information, we'll update this page and change the date below. If a change is significant, we'll say so in the app or in a release note rather than quietly editing this page.
